Question
Olflex is introducing a line of cleanroom compatible cable and accessories. We have been asked about the ESD properties of our products and we can not find any standards regarding cables, etc. Are you aware of any standards that apply to cables/connectors/cable track?
Answer
No, I am not aware of any standards for cables/connectors/cable tracks. There may be problems at the cable connection point if the conductive pins are surrounded by a charge generative insulator where the possible electric fields from the insulative connector could charge the pins and cause a CDM upon coupling the connectors.
You might want to check with the ESD Association. Their web site is: http://esda.org/
