Question I was asked if I could find a neon bulb for a school project. I remember years ago that companies selling ESD control items had small crcuit cards will a neon bulb on them and when you handed it to somone it would light showing the static charge - I beleive these we made up for advestising - do they still exist and do you know where I can get this or something like it with a neon bulb to show static charge???? -Anonymous
Answer The neon bulbs are good for demonstrating the effect of static electrical energy. We don’t have this item available, but there may be some other contacts you can try listed below. These bulbs are still used today in some AC switches (for “on” indicators) and can probably be found at local hardware stores, electrical supply store, a light bulb store (http://www.lamptech.com/) an electronics supply (http://www.gerberelec.com/) or a general parts store like McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com/).
