Question
Can Statproof Floor Paint be applied over painted, sealed concrete floors or do the existing finishes need to be stripped off completely? Could you send me specifications for this product? - Fred Ridder, APR Associates, PC, Harrisonburg, VA,
Answer
If the floor is sealed and cleaned you may be able to apply Statproof® Floor Paint right over it, but it also may need to be completely stripped. It is best to do a test patch in a low traffic area (corner) of the floor prior to coating the whole floor to ensure proper adhesion and compatibility. We recommend using an industrial primer or sealer on cement floors to help increase adhesion for poor adhesion conditions. For some surfaces, you may need to prep or rough the surface prior to applying the Statproof® Floor Paint.
