Question
I am interested in information on ESD safe- roll around carts for an engineering laboratory environment. - Anonymous, Greensboro , NC
Answer
Please note that when using an ESD Cart in any ESD sensitive environment you should make sure all shelves are grounded to all the vertical posts & frame and in turn the last (bottom) shelf is tied to ground via a drag chain or that the wheels (all 4) are conductive and properly connect to the frame. Another good precaution is to keep a common point ground cord attached to the cart so that when is approaches an ESDS work area it can easily be plugged into its grounding system (kind of like tying down a boat to a dock when in come to shore).
